Smell-a-vision

Most of you are aware of all the great leaps in technology that have allowed us to talk, type, and video chat live, even though we're hundreds of miles apart.  Heck, most of you have smart phones that allow you to do all those things even when you're on the go.   We can watch not only what's happening on the International Space Station, but what's happening on Mars all from the comfort of our own homes, our computers and even our phones.

Naval ships across the globe have access to networks like CNN (thanks in part to hard work my Dad was doing for the Department of the Navy before he retired) to watch their military strikes live instead of having to wait for information to come back to them from Washington.  That's powerful technology people.

And did you know we even have printers that can print up real, live 3D versions of things?  PRINTERS.  Almost anything you want made with ABSplus production-grade thermoplastic (whatever that is) is printed up like.. well, like printing a document from Word.  And not just little things, but big usable things.  Like a bike.

And not just black and white. Oh no!  They can print things in color!

Can you imagine how handy that would be on the International Space Station?  Oh, you've broken a part? Let's just print up a new one!  Imagine the capabilities of that!

The only thing they haven't really gotten down with technology is smell.  They're working on it though.  The idea being to use smell to create a more immersive and captivating environment.  And you have no idea how much I wish they had that already.

Because I made seared pork, cornbread stuffing with dried cranberries for dinner in our crock pot last night, and I really should be able to share with you how amazing my house smelled.

Seriously.. Thoughts?
